About this event

Join us for our first cross-GDG meetup!
Øyvind Randa, a data scientist/developer and fellow GDG organizer in Bergen, Norway will join us for a talk on building cross platform voice apps. Next to him we will have our very own Google Assistant GDE Eliza Camber talk about the Google Assistant.

Eliza Camber - Personalize for each user and device
What sets apart a good action is personalizing the experience for each user, adapting to their needs and offer the best experience for whichever device the user is currently using. Customizing the responses, storing information and manipulating the medium of the displayed response, can all be achieved by learning how to leverage the AoG SDK. Together we will learn the differences between the DialogFlow SDK and the AoG SDK, how to perform all the above and some best practices that will help you build your action faster and better. The language we're going to use during this talk is Kotlin

Øyvind Randa - Building cross platform voice apps
Have you ever tried to build cross-platform voice apps for Alexa and Google Assistant? How can we keep the user experience consistent over both platforms with the same codebase?
We will see how Jovo Framework can help us solve these challenges. Jovo framework is a cross-platform framework for building voice apps for Alexa and Google Assistant. I will be live code a small demo on how it works.
