Google Cloud Functions with Http Triggers, with Michael Watson

GDG Nashville / Nashville Mobile Developers
Tue, May 29, 2018, 6:00 PM (CDT)

About this event

Google Cloud Functions provide a very simple mechanism for standing up back-end operations for any application, without having to worry about all the ordinary provisioning concerns. Previous incarnations of the notion of 'microservices' have still required the developer to take care of all the traditional framework and server configuration concerns, but those worries might be a thing of the past.

Michael Watson will discuss the deployment of Google Cloud Functions (GCF) using HTTP triggers, manipulating firebase data, and handling the async manipulation of that firebase data. He'll review the basic setup for GCF in the Google console, show a basic firebase database, and then demonstrate a simple Android activity which invokes the operation.

Nashville Mobile Developers usually meets monthly on the last Tuesday of the month. We meet to discuss innovations in mobile development, and will generally have someone from a local company who's got something awesome to show off.
