Our first meet-up in 2016 is hosted at 1&1 and comes with 3 great talks:
• Introduction to RxJava/RxAndroid: the RX libraries have gained great popularity among developers lately. RX solves asynchronous programming elegantly based on the Observer pattern. This is especially helpful on Android where lots of interactions are asynchronous to the UI. Speaker: Egor Andreevic
• Complex Android Apps at 1&1: Learn how the Android development team utilizes modern technologies, practices and tools to deliver an Android Mail App to over 10 million users. During the talk you will hear how to setup Gradle to have several flavors with different look and feel, resolve cross reference conflicts and utilize an Artifactory to deploy necessary libraries and APKs. We will also demonstrate how to upload nightly builds into the Play Store Alpha channel. Speaker: Sebastian Paulus
• "Lands of Ruin" App Demo: Lands of Ruin is a new type of hybrid tabletop game combining Android tablet UI with physical miniatures. In the demo Juhani will show the latest iteration of the Android UI and answer any technical questions about the project. Speaker: Juhani Lehtimäki
And thanks to 1&1 Munich, we have a room with great view from the 11th floor, enough food, drinks and beer. Let's have a fun evening!
Parking hint: there may be some free slots in "Pickelstraße" nearby.
Public transport: U1/U7 Westfriedhof, Tram 20/21 Borstei
