About this event

This combined talk and workshop will start at the beginners level on Firebase.

Starting from an introductory level, you will gain an understanding of the basic concepts and consider use cases while getting hands on experience in a practical workshop.

It begins with the Talk
Firebase Performance Monitoring

Firebase is Google’s comprehensive mobile development platform. With Firebase, you can build apps fast, without managing infrastructure. Firebase gives you functionality like analytics, databases, messaging and crash reporting so you can move quickly and focus on your users.

In this talk, Richie Foreman & Ali Kashefian Naieni discuss how having a performant web app is critical to the developers but it is hard to write apps which perform well on various device types. Quantifying performance and improve on it is another challenge. Using Firebase Performance Monitoring for the web, they will explain how you can measure exactly where time is being spent, and where you need to optimize your app.

We then move to the Workshop
Walkthrough of Firebase features and functionality

This workshop will be an opportunity to work through the self-paced codelabs for Firebase with Richie and Ali nearby to answer questions and provide additional context.
