Melbourne's 3 mobile meet-ups:  Cocaheads, Android GDG and Melbourne Mobile will be getting together for a combined Christmas party!  There’ll be food, drinks, talks, fun activities and give-aways!

Talks:

LJ Kenward will be bringing us an important Christmas message, on The Value of Junior Developers, and the common problems they face when joining teams!  This is a particularly important issue for Mobile, with the mobile space continuing to grow and many companies around Melbourne are struggling to fill roles.

LJ Kenward runs the Junior Dev meetups in Melbourne and Perth, helps with lots more, and has a burgeoning speaking career.

Activities

Once again we will be doing awful startup pitches!  “Uber for clowns”, “Cloud services for toddlers”, “Twitter for dogs” - We will be putting together elevator pitches for some truly terrible startup ideas.  Teams will be formed on the night and you will get to pick a ‘terrible startup idea’ out of a hat.  Each team will have 10 minutes to put together an elevator pitch for their startup.  Prizes will be awarded for ‘worst startup idea’ and ‘most likely to already exist’.

Slack socks -  Thanks to Slack, We have 8 pairs of slack socks, which will be stuffed with Christmas goodies. 

Reveal License - Itty Bitty Apps have kindly donated a License for Reveal.  Reveal brings powerful runtime view debugging to iOS developers.  All christmas party attendees will also be given a 15% discount when purchasing Reveal.

JetBrains License - JetBrains have also donated two 1 year individual subscriptions, which can be used with any of their IDE's (eg, IntelliJ IDEA, AppCode, etc).
