What happens when you combine abstract ideas with the power of technology? From building vehicles out of shopping carts to playing tetris on a building, hackers bring novelty in unexpected ways. Join us in this talk bringing together the history of hacker culture and the hacker ethic, and how they cross both economic and cultural barriers.

Activities:

Once again we will be doing awful startup pitches! “Uber for clowns”, “Cloud services for toddlers”, “Twitter for dogs” - We will be putting together elevator pitches for some truly terrible startup ideas. Teams will be formed on the night and you will get to pick a ‘terrible startup idea’ out of a hat. Each team will have 10 minutes to put together an elevator pitch for their startup. Prizes will be awarded for ‘worst startup idea’
