About this event

Women Techmakers Melbourne is holding our first International Women's Day (IWD) event!

We have some great speakers organised:

Lightning talk:
Amanda Woo - "The ACT of Self-Confidence" - A practical and inspiring talk that shares three ways to evolve your self-confidence.

Main talk:
Nicola Nye from FastMail - "Mentors: the rock and the ripple" - An uplifting, inspiring and actionable talk on the joys - and difficulties - of finding a mentor to power up your career. With a plot twist.

This event is aimed at people who identify as female to meet up, network and learn in a safe and welcoming environment.
Please only attend if you identify as female. If you wish to discuss this please reach out to Katie Barnett through Slack or Meetup.

The talk will be posted online so anyone who misses out can catch it on YouTube later.

We will also have a little present for those who arrive early!

• RSVPs
Like our regular GDG Melbourne events we are not opening RSVPs until a week before the event. We are finding more than 60% of people who have RSVP'd are not turning up which means other people miss out! Hopefully with an RSVP closer to the date everyone will have a better idea of their plans! Please only RSVP Yes if you know you will be there.

If you RSVP Yes – Please arrive before 6:20pm, or your spot may be given to a waitlisted attendee.

If you are on the waitlist – We cannot guarantee you a spot, but if you are interested in attending we will let in people on the waitlist after 6:20 in limited numbers. Please be at the venue before 6:20.

Please note we have a hard cut off on the number of attendees due to venue capacity—get there early!

Doors close at 6:30pm.

Please see our waitlist policy for more details: https://www.gdgmelbourne.com/waitlist-policy/
