About this event

Welcome to Melbourne Androids, February Meetup.
This month we have an exciting meetup - GDE Andrew Kelly will be flying in from Sydney to give an beginners introduction to "Android Things" - googles Android based IoT solution. We also have Mark Ng talking about the Android phone API and David Kennedy giving an introduction to material design!

Google Developer Expert Andrew Kelly, will cover what Android Things is, and how to create your first project linking an IoT device running Android Things to Firebase. We will see a practical example of connecting temperature sensors, LEDs and switches to an Android Things device and controlling these peripherals using Android code. Andrew will be giving the same talk that wowed the crowds at Sydneys 2017 DevFest!

Schedule
Doors open for drinks at 6pm, and talks will kickoff at 6:30pm. There'll also be pizza, and when the talks finish up (around 7:30pm) there'll be more time for drinks and networking. We look forward to seeing you then!

There will be an Outware employee downstairs to let people in. Take the elevator to level 3. Doors close at 6:30 sharp!
