Get ready to get hands-on and learn more about Gemini and Vertex AI - and this time with Cloud Run. You'll be creating a Gemini-powered chat app on Cloud Run. And if time allows, there might be a surprise extension to this CodeLab, so be ready! 

Workshop content: 

We will follow a codelab designed by a Googler which will be lead by our very own Google Cloud Expert, JK! 

In this codelab, you'll see how you can create a basic chat bot written in node by using the Vertex AI Gemini API and the Vertex AI client library. The app will use an express session store backed by Google Cloud Firestore.

Here's what you'll learn:

• How to use htmx, tailwindcss, and express.js to build a Cloud Run service
• How to use the Vertex AI client libraries to authenticate to Google APIs
• How to create a chatbot to interact with the Gemini model
• How to deploy to a cloud run service without a docker file
• How to use an express session store backed by Google Cloud Firestore

Prerequisites: 

• Basic programming knowledge (Node.js preferred).

Participate in hands-on lab with Google Cloud experts & network with your technical peers. 

There will be dinner, non-alcoholic drinks, surprise swag and plenty of networking! 

This event is designed for beginners, technical developers & practitioners who would like to learn something new in GCP. All attendees should bring their own laptops for the hands-on labs.
