I am a computer Science student curious and determined to apply myself to things greater than what I have been exposed to. Intelligence Augmentation is likely where I want to settle my scores as I believe higher understanding and cognitive edge are what people need to make better social, economical, and political decisions. Big decisions and data can be inundating for people but putting them at the center of it allows a very symbiotic relationship between people and technology.
I am currently working on a series of Data Science projects provided by World Quant University. Concurrently, I am pursuing Machine Learning.
Catch a game of chess with me, in the dark hours.

Emmanuel Okorwoit is an AKAD associate, peer mentor and mentee. He is a junior at the African Leadership University, Mauritius under a full scholarship to study Computer Science, being among the 10 African scholars awarded the Patoranking schólarship. He is a lead research analyst on climate change and sustainability at Ambo Ventures.
He is leading the Ambo research team in Kenya, working on both desktop research and primary research on Greenhouse gas emissions in Kenya and Africa at large. Ambo has published his research on Mapping Kenya’s carbon and biodiversity impact which can be accessed here. His work focussed mainly on carbon-intensive industries, the cost of transition, the role of startups and the legislation set in place by the government of Kenya to achieve her Nationally Determined Contribution of GHG abatement by 30% relative to business as usual. More of his work is under review waiting for publication on climate change in the agricultural and transport sector in Kenya.
His biggest question has been his mission. It is how can he make agriculture economically viable for many smallholder farmers who are hard hit by the effects of climate change in Africa and keep them in poverty? His passion and interest lie in using research to uncover the broken parts of different sectors like media, climate change, and the agricultural supply chain and help startups and innovations build human-centred solutions. His north star is rooted in connecting with people and aligning ethos and belief systems to establish a deep connection. His main ingredient to achieve this is human willpower, connecting with diverse young Africans and world leaders who share the same dream, who care, who are aware and who are ready to engage. He’s deeply passionate about data analysis and digital technology and how to use these tools to mitigate climate change.
I am a Systems Architect at La Sentinelle Ltd. I contribute to the openSUSE Project in my free time and I maintain Linux mirrors in Mauritius. I also follow policy discussions within the AFRINIC community.
