This episode is a primer into the game development series and what we’ll cover, it’s important to set the expectations right from the beginning, as the audience is not going to become game development gurus in one go.

This series will understand how the full game development stack works, entirely from a fresh technical eye.
We will start by understanding how hardware is specifically tailored for games, items like chips, custom processors, and different cooling and heat exchange types. We will also see how operating systems integrate tightly with custom silicon. We will also cover game engines and how they do their magic. Unreal Engine and Unity 3D have so much in common, and so we will break these features down, moving on to understanding how a basic game development flow is run.
We will chart deep to understand the specifics of physics, collision, animation, and artificial intelligence, and the exact math behind games. You will get to see how game content is created and imported into game development tools. Moreover, we will see the content versioning issues out there, especially when talking about huge binary blobs. We will chart performance management and its optimization, and the scripting aspects of games. We will close but having a though look at how the PS3 did everything from its hardware design to the very issues of creating performant code.
Join us in the game development series to touch on the elements that make a game from the ground up. It is not so common to see the full pipeline of making games, from silicon to graphics. Join us and benefit from a great learning experience.
