Title: "Searching for the Missing Link in Large Language Models: Constructing Knowledge Graphs with Cognitive Linguistics”
Abstract: Language models like ChatGPT have revolutionized Artificial Intelligence by emulating human language. These models excel at generating text where the word order is always correct, adhering to perfect grammar. However, the meaning of the produced texts doesn't always align with truth, leading to the well-known hallucinations. Unlike syntax, these models struggle to grasp the semantic part of natural languages.
Recently, knowledge graphs, as traditional tools in AI, are regaining popularity as a way to address this deficit. In this talk, we will present a method for constructing these graphs that emulates, to some extent, the way meaning is represented in our minds. This method, based on formal semantics and cognitive linguistics, generates systematic and versatile graphs that aim to effectively combine with applications based on large language models, where the accuracy of information is crucial.
Speaker: Juan Fernández develops AI applications based on understanding human language. He has years of experience in the field of Natural Language Processing (NLP), working in both startups and large technology companies. He holds a Ph.D. in Computational Linguistics and, prior to focusing on NLP, worked as a dictionary writer for the Spanish Royal Academy.
