The QUIC Transport Protocol

GDG Madison

QUIC is an HTTP-like protocol announced by Google in 2013 that builds a whole transport layer on top of UDP. By removing the constraints of compatibility with TCP+HTTP+SSL from the stack, QUIC has let Google experiment with making web serving faster. Now in 2017, ~7% of all internet traffic is QUIC and Google is still adding fascinating new innovations to it. This talk will recap Google's Aug 2017
