We're excited to announce that at our August 14 meeting, GDG Madison member Joe Putila will teach us about TensorFlow.  Doors open at 5:30; the presentation starts at 6:00.

The presentation will focus on understanding how TensorFlow can be used to build neural networks.  We will cover some theory, some practical considerations, and walk through an example of a classification task.  Additionally, Joe will share how UW Health is using TensorFlow to answer difficult questions in the evolving world of healthcare.

Joe Putila is a Data Analyst in the Office of Population Health at UW Health.  He has a PhD in Public Health and experience in applying statistics and machine learning to improve performance in both the clinical and business sides of healthcare.  He and his colleagues lead efforts to improve patient outcomes, foster healthier communities, and reduce the cost of care.
