About this event

International Women’s Day (IWD) occurs on March 8th every year. It marks a moment to celebrate and provide visibility for the incredible contributions of women around the world and is a call to action for accelerating gender parity. 
IWD is Women Techmakers annual event campaign where our community hosts events all around the world during the months of March and April in celebration of this moment. From big summits to smaller, intimate gatherings, IWD is a time to host events that create connections, educate and inspire, and recognize that we still have a ways to go to close the gender gap.

Understanding Power, Allyship, and Privilege for Customer Engagements	Sabri Hammad - Sabri Hammad has 20 years of experience in leading presales, business development, architecture, digital transformation, and professional services organizations. Currently working in Google Cloud where he leads a team that supports customers through their digital transformations by enabling robust training and enablement plans. Throughout his career and personal experience he has always challenged himself to expand his perspective and advocate for under represented groups. Efforts have included sponsoring multiple events for Autism Awareness, Women in Technology, Accessibility Innovation, Diversity in the Workplace, Computer Science Engineering Week for Title IV K-12 Institutions, etc. A lifelong learner, currently enrolled in Harvard Business School in addition to his current passion of learning American Sign Language. Outside of the office he volunteers for Habitat for Humanity, Northern Virginia Food Pantry, and has done international relief work for United Muslims Relief and Islamic Relief.
