About his talk:

Engineering in the Atmospheres: How to Build and Maintain Rocket Ships Mid-Flight

So your product manager or CEO just finished reading Blitzscaling and now wants you to ship that new feature set even faster! Whether you are building for your first user or already maintaining an app that has thousands, hundreds of thousands or even millions of users—how do you keep working on a rocket ship that is mid-flight? We will discover the different engineering strategies that have helped Tinder go from start-up to company with strong product-market fit to being the #1 grossing app (non-game) in the world!

Ben Dodson - Snap Inc

Ben is an engineer on Snap's Client Platform team, focusing on high-performance frameworks for UI, database, networking, and more. He loves his kids, cats, Mountain View, and Systrace. Before Snap, Ben co-founded Omlet Inc, creator of the Omlet Arcade, a mobile network for gamers.

About his talk:

Building for the Future at Snap

At Snapchat, we recently rolled out a complete rewrite of our Android application. In this talk, we'll cover some of the reasons we embarked on this journey, key design decisions of our new architecture, and the migration strategy we used to move over tens of millions of daily-active users from one million-line codebase to another. Was it worth it? Come find out!
