Shang Yi is a software engineer that has worked on various products in different industries ranging from payments, travel, and construction. He has experience working with technologies such as Java, JavaScript, Angular, React and React Native. He is also a Google Developer Expert in Firebase. Sometimes, he gets easily distracted by random stuff ranging from DIY projects to memes. 

Roman Jaquez, Flutter GDE, Google Certified Cloud Architect and GDG Lawrence Lead Organizer will walk us through how developing the GDG Lawrence mobile app using Flutter as the front end and leveraging the Google Cloud and its serverless capabilities for the application’s backend (Firebase Authentication, Firebase Cloud Firestore, Cloud Storage and Cloud Functions) simplified its development without provisioning physical servers while achieving scalability, low maintainability and high availability - all under the Free Tier!
