Claritza currently serves as Principal Architect at Google, previous to this post, Claritza held several IT Executive positions at State Street Corporation, the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston, the MA Secretary of Health and Human Services and the Boston Public Health Commission. Claritza also served for more than a decade as Program Chair and Senior Faculty of Information Technology at Cambridge College. At each one of these organizations, distinguished herself by leading impactful and transformative initiatives.At the personal level, Claritza devotes a significant amount of time to community service supporting public health research, STEM education, mentorship, and social issues. Her professional profile and personal journey has been featured in national media such as National Public Radio (NPR), the Library of Congress, Latina Style Magazine’s Women in STEM, and most recently in WGBH and The WorldChannel.Ms Abreu has been distinguished with multiple and important awards including the “Women to Watch” award from Mass High Tech Magazine, one of the 100 most influential Hispanics in MA, the “Excellence in Technology Award” by the Governor and the Commonwealth of MA and as “Distinguished Alumni Award” by both of her alma maters. Claritza was recognized by the President of the Dominican Republic as meritorious Dominican abroad and her portrait is featured at the Top of Hub “Dreams of Freedom” Immigrant Museum as a successful immigrant in the city of Boston.Claritza holds a bachelor’s degree in Computer Systems Engineering from the Santo Domingo Institute of Technology, a Master’s Degree in Computer Information Systems from Boston University and graduate certifications from NYU, West Virginia University and Suffolk University. She lives in the greater Boston area with her two sons surrounded by a large family. She loves traveling, meeting new people and hiking with her significant other.
