Abstract: In this session, I would like to talk about my career path, as an Engineer with 11 years of experience. I would give some tips that worked for my personal development and may help other people who are facing issues while pursuing a technical career path. Also, I would give some details about the process of joining the GDE program (as it's possible to see here: https://medium.com/google-developer-experts/how-i-joined-the-google-developers-experts-program-52428d2c2d06), besides talking how I keep myself motivated and updated with the latest in the tech world.

The Grad Cohort Kuwait initiative's goal is to to engage, encourage, and sustain women in STEM-related areas by providing mentoring and support for women, underrepresented minorities, and persons with disabilities at every level of the research pipeline: undergraduate students, graduate students, faculty, and government & industry researchers. It is an initiative based on the Computing Research Association CRA targeting increasing success and participation in computing research. في شهر مارس، ستقيم مجموعة تطوعية تحت إسم Grad Cohort بالتعاون مع قسم علوم المعلومات، كلية العلوم الحياتية، جامعة الكويت ومجموعة صناع التقنية النسائية ومبرمجين جوجل ثاني ورشاتها تستهدف خرجات نسائية من برامج علمية من مختلف جامعات الكويت بالأخص في هذه السنة البرامج التقنية (Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Science) تحت رعاية عميد كلية العلوم الحياتية، جامعة الكويت تحت شعار #WTMDareToBe #EmbraceEquity #InternationalWomensDay

يهدف البرنامج تنمية قدرات التواصل المهنية للطالبات من جانب والتعرف على قيادات نسائية فعالة في مجالاتها. تحصل هذه الفعالية على دعم من مؤسسي البرنامج في الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية ACM and Computing Research Association (CRA) وقد تم اطلاقه بالكويت سنة بنجاح بمساندتكم في إبريل ٢٠١٩ حيث وصل عدد الحضور ٦٠ مرأة وعدد المتطوعين ١٥ شخص أكاديميين.

سيتضمن الحدث في مارس من هذا العام على الآتي:

- محاضرة عن خطوات اكتساب خبرات تقنية من خبيرة مبرمجين جوجل في تقنية أندرويد من البرازيل

- ورشة تعارف (Speed Networking) مع عدد لا يقل عن ٢٠ مرأة خبيرة في مجال تقنيات

- ورشة #IamRemarkable أنا مميزة وذلك لتنمية الثقة بالنفس والقدرات وأهمية دور المرأة القيادية في المؤسسات.

- تدريب شخصي عن كيفية تطوير السيرة الذاتية في المجال العلمي

- حلقة نقاشية بعنوان "الوظائف التقنية في القطاع الخاص والقطاع الحكومي مع مدراء في مجالات إدارية وتقنية مع أ. مشاعل العوضي (بنك الكويت الدولي) وم. منية القبندي (نائب المدير العام الادارة المركزية للإحصاء) وم. مي العويش (بنك الخليج) وم. سندي بوشهري، نائب رئيس تطوير الأعمال، مؤسسة SAP وم. منال المزيد مدير ادارة حوكمة القطاع العام الهيئة العامة الاتصالات وتقنية المعلومات

- قريش رمضاني تحفيزي للتواصل مع مرشدين والتعاون والتعارف لتقوية قنوات تواصل الخريجين مع العاملين في القطاعين.

Requirements:

- You need to be a women registered in a computing degree to attend (Masters or Undergraduate).

(Priority will be for senior undergrads)

- Degrees: Information Science, MIS, IS, IT, Computer Engr, Computer Science(s).

- Recent Masters graduates can also register.

Registration deadline is: 12th March 2023 (await an acceptance email before attending)
