Data Science is currently one of the most rapidly advancing fields of computer science. Google Developers Group Kolkata in association with The Code Foundation bring to you the first of its kind workshop where the audience is taught Data Science from the application perspective, keeping in mind the nitty-gritty involved with production environments.

Note: All the participants should bring their laptops (with Miniconda/Anaconda (Python 3.7 variant) and Postman installed) as this is a purely hands-on workshop.
Prerequisites: Familiarity with programming (preferably with Python)
(Basic familiarity with machine learning will be an added advantage)

About the workshop instructor: Nilabhra Roy Chowdhury is an M.Sc (Data Engineering) student at Jacobs University. He did his undergraduate studies on Computer Science and Engineering from Netaji Subhash Engineering College. His work is heavily centred around finding solutions to NLP / NLU tasks that is usable in a production setting and built from noisy real-world data. He uses both classical and deep learning approaches to solve these problems.

Session on Building a Career in Machine Learning - Rajarshee Mitra works as a Data Scientist in Microsoft on problems such as ranking, question-answering, language generation etc using millions of data from users with an objective of impacting that many users. He has a small background in Computer Vision from his earlier work in a startup.
He hails from the City of Joy and graduated in CS from Netaji Subhash Engineering College. He likes to spend time on neural architectures and their application to language understanding. He is currently authoring papers on the same.

Session on Understanding Parts of Speech - Rebeka Mukherjee is researching on robot perception at the University of Utah - Robotics Centre. She has the experience of working with Clearlink as a Data Scientist.
Rebeka was one of the founding members of Women Techmakers Kolkata an invaluable volunteer to the Google Developers Group Kolkata and was a crucial part of the team that made GDG Kolkata's "Solve for India 2017" possible.
