Theme: #ProgressNotPerfection
Women TechMakers (WTM) is a community and we’re building a world where all women can thrive in tech. Google’s Women Techmakers program provides visibility, community, and resources for women in technology.
International Women’s Day (IWD) occurs on March 8th every year. It marks a moment to celebrate and provide visibility for the incredible contributions of women around the world and is a call to action for accelerating gender parity.
IWD is Women Techmakers’ annual event campaign where our community hosts an event during the months of March and April in celebration of this moment. From big summits to smaller, intimate gatherings, IWD is a time to host events that create connections, educate and inspire, and recognize that we still have a way to go to close the gender gap.
This year our theme celebrates all kinds of progress - big or small - and the strength we demonstrate when we don’t let fear hold us back from following our dreams.
This year’s theme, #ProgressNotPerfection is dedicated to all women in the tech scene, especially here in Kigali. Our paths aren’t always linear, and we may come across seemingly impossible challenges, but when we celebrate #ProgressNotPerfection, we are celebrating all we’ve accomplished - big and small - and our inner strength and resilience that allowed us to get here.
