About this event

What do NASA, drones, and machine learning have in common?

Join GDG Kampala community on 23rd June 2017 at Outbox and watch a recording of Google Developers Expert, Panayotis Tzinis, to find out.

This event will be accompanied by a discussion with a team from Innovex talking about drones and machine learning.

About Panayotis Tzinis:

Panayotis (aka Vader) is an Intelligence Tech lead of the X-Lab of Moonshot Lab, a tech-tank where crazy people, from scientists to artists, to developers to technologists, share their ideas in order to create moonshots (a radical solution, integrating breakthrough technology with native thinking).

Panayotis is also a Google Developer Expert on Product Strategy and the lead of the GDG Thessaloniki as well as the promoter of GDGs in Greece.

About His Talk:
Panayotis will share his experience working in his discomfort zone and how it helps him deliver breakthrough solutions with the hope of encouraging others to push their limits.

The project he is going to share came out, almost, from a bet he made with George, an electrical & computer engineer focused on Space Environments, who he met at the NASA Space Apps challenge in his home town.

The Question was: How might we help astronauts not lose stuff in outer space?

In less than 2 weeks they organized a special NASA Design Sprint and gathered more than 20 people from different backgrounds to join and share their thoughts/experiences on how to "help" NASA solve this big challenge. The Sprint helped them to "space" out of their comfi-zone and see things from a different angles and perspectives, delivering what (at least they thought) was the best solution.

"Without a doubt I can tell you that the Sprint and the team demystified my structured thinking and helped all of us create a common vision for approaching the challenge."
