GDG Hudson in collaboration with HVTechFest is bringing this amazing 30 hours of collaborative problem solving. You will experience a Lean Startup pitching and teams forming, then coding together with youth.
2021 is the third year HVTechFest is hosting our youth Hackathon to make a difference for underserved population in Hudson Valley, NY. We are using our unique formula to inspire youth with out-of-the-box thinking, empower with technology through collaboration:
Young coders teaming up with tech professional to find a solution to a problem of civic importance;
Using high- and low-technology functions to solve the public problems;
Collaborating to address real world situations
We will be using advanced staff like Google Cloud, Flutter, ML as well as low-tech Google Sites (for pitching) and the whole G-Suite during the Hackathon.
DM/IST, MBA, MSCynthia V. Marcello, DM is a tech solopreneur, software applications developer, data scientist, and business management consultant with 25 years of experience working with small-to-medium businesses, corporations, government, and educational agencies. She has developed data-driven applications for the Department of Defense (logistics), and numerous custom software applications (front-end and back-end) for operations and enterprise materials handling processes of corporations, and order-entry and production systems for online retailers. She also provides custom training in technology using her own curriculum. She is the founder and host of Data-Driven Divas, an online community designed to support women small business owners and managers seeking to enhance their data-driven decision-making skills. She has been a full-time professor of computer science for the past 14 years and currently teaches courses online part time. A classic systems thinker and researcher of human and systems behaviors, Cynthia strives to empower others to understand the systems that impact the daily experience, so that technology can be aligned with and implemented, in a manner that is congruent with the business architecture and use cases of interest. She holds a Doctor of Management in Organizational Leadership with a specialization in Information Systems and Technology, a Master of Business Administration with a specialization in E-Business, and a Master of Science in Psychology with a specialization in Industrial-Organizational Psychology. Dr. Andrea Tejedor is an educational technology steward, supporting K-16 educators making a strategic shift to leverage instructional technologies for student learning and teacher professional growth. Dr. Tejedor is the Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum, Instruction & Technology at the Highland Falls-Fort Montgomery CSD. She has an MEd in Elementary Education from Mount Saint Mary College, an MA in Instructional Design and Technology and an Ed.D. in Education Leadership, Management, and Policy from Seton Hall University. As an educator, researcher, and consultant, her work focuses on visioning and leadership in the education and technology arenas. Utilizing her experience, her skills and knowledge she founded OpenHub Corp, a tech resource center in the Hudson Valley.
