Together with Google Developer Group George Town, the Women Techmakers will celebrate the IWD with a physical event held at George Town, Malaysia. The event is named Flutter x International Women’s Day, where there will be sessions about Flutter and Women In Tech. The talks will be published on our Youtube channel and we expect their impacts to grow over time. The purpose of having these sessions are to
Empower the community with tech skills and knowledge,
Raise public awareness of the importance of empowering women in tech, and

2:05 AM	Elegant form validation in Flutter	In this talk, we will explore how to implement elegant and efficient form validation in Flutter. We will cover basic and advanced techniques such as using Form and TextFormField widgets, built-in validation methods, and creating custom validators. You will learn how to handle complex validation scenarios, sync/async validation, and how to display error messages to the user. By the end of this talk, you will be able to create dynamic and user-friendly forms that validate input efficiently.
2:35 AM	Change the Channel	Inspired by Bretman Rock's speech at the Unforgettable Gala, "Change the Channel" is a message that speaks to people who are trying to thrive in a field despite being part of the minority. When navigating the tech world as a minority, this talk encourages the audience to lean more into the community where they find a sense of belonging, find role models they could identify with, and one day pay it forward to the community and be those role models themselves.

When I was young, I assumed my role models didn't second guess themselves, didn't fear failure. My life and career has taught me, however, that life's greatest joys & opportunities lie at the intersection of fear and excitement. The moment your heart beats with the opportunity for expansion. Growth happens when we get comfortable with being uncomfortable. When we have the courage to step through fear rather than seek to eliminate it.
