University of Galway annual capture the flag hacking competition!

PorterShed, 15 Market Street, Galway, H91 TCX3

Capture the flags are events where teams race each other to solve puzzles and submit their correct answers. These puzzles can be technical (deciphering a password from a website, finding the GPS co-ordinates of where a .png photo was taken), but many are solvable without knowing a single thing about computers or programming!

What is a Capture the Flag?

Capture the flags are events where teams race each other to solve puzzles and submit their correct answers. These puzzles can be technical (deciphering a password from a website, finding the GPS co-ordinates of where a .png photo was taken), but many are solvable without knowing a single thing about computers or programming (last years challenges included a crossword, a morse code file, and a movie trivia puzzle!).

They're a fantastic place to learn new skills and network with other students.

When is it on?

The event takes place on the 17th of February, with doors opening at 12PM. We'll be running a series of warm-up and starter challenges from 12:30, followed by lunch, with the full CTF taking place between 2PM and 5PM.

Where is it on?

This year we'll be holding this event in the PorterShed, Galway's hub for tech companies.
