This event will commemorate the global Cloud Next 19 event (https://cloud.withgoogle.com/next/sf/) held in San Francisco on the same week. That event is everything about cloud (IaaS or PaaS level, orchestrating machines in the cloud, big data, machine learning, and deep learning). We'll have several options to go based on how many attend and what are the needs, beginners are welcome!
For beginners we have a slide deck which introduces Google Cloud Platform and its parts, we'll survey in the beginning if that's needed. :)
We're planning to go through a series of code labs revolving around the March Madness basketball game series. The labs involve some machine learning, starting from 0 knowledge and introducing Big Query or SQL. The follow-up labs would move towards machine learning and enhance the prediction model.
I encourage everyone to bring their own device and follow the code labs with me. No previous knowledge is needed. The device does not need to be powerful, because we'll access all cloud services through the browser. Also: there will be no charge due to special support to perform the cloud experiments.
Local developer and Root Access Hackerspace member Parrish Sims will give a lecture on GoLang to conclude our event before we raffle off our prizes.
We'll provide lunch and snacks, and there will be a raffle at the end.
Csaba returned from Cloud Next 19 with some swag! A Google Home Mini and a Google Hub!
Please keep in mind that we'll meet at Root Access Hackerspace and not Bitwise.
