DevFests are global tech events run by Google Developer Groups (GDGs) that bring together developers for a mix of talks, hands-on sessions, workshops, and a deep dive into the latest from Google and the world of open source.

This year’s theme is “Building Safe, Secure, and Scalable Solutions with AI and Cloud.” DevFest 2025 will empower developer communities worldwide to move from theory to practice equipping them with the skills to design innovative, scalable, and ethically sound applications that shape a future benefiting everyone.

For DevFest Scotland 2025, GDG Edinburgh, GDG Glasgow, GDSC Glasgow, and Women Techmakers Scotland are joining forces to host a jam-packed day in the heart of historic Edinburgh. With the generous support of Lloyds Banking Group, we will gather at the iconic Bank of Scotland building on the Mound, the Scottish Headquarters for Lloyds Bank.

The program will feature expert-led talks from Google speakers and local developers, hands-on workshops on AI, Cloud, and modern development tools, and plenty of opportunities to network with Scotland’s thriving tech community. Together, we’ll explore how responsible innovation can empower developers to build not just software, but a better tomorrow.
