1 - Getting to Grips with RxJava on Android (Brendan Fahy)
This is a practical session, bring your laptop
RxJava is a powerful tool for transforming the way we write Java code. The best way to get to grips with it is through practical, hands-on experience. In this session we'll be looking at a sample Android app which uses themoviedb.org API (which some of you may remember from the DevFest hackathon), and applying RxJava to simplify our network calls, our threading, and even our user interaction code. While this will be aimed at Android, most of the content will be valid and applicable for regular Java too.

The talk will cover the following topics: - A shot observation of various wireless and wired input devices - MIDI API in Android 6.0 - USB API and USB-to-serial adapters - ESP8266 microcontroller and UDP messaging
