On Tuesday, 25th February at Launchpad, Felipe Ceotto will take us on an AI-powered journey with "ChatGPT, But in Your Shed" — a two-part, hands-on session all about running large language models (LLMs) locally.
First, we’ll break down what LLMs are, how they work, and why you might want to run them outside the cloud. Then, we’ll explore different solutions for hosting your own AI models.
Next, in a live coding session, we’ll build a ChatGPT-style web app that runs on a locally hosted LLM — no external servers, no API limits, just pure AI on your own machine. We’ll also dive into what else is possible with local AI models.
