Android Accessibility with Dave Truxall

Accessibility is often an afterthought when developing apps of any kind, yet if your app is not inclusive, you are losing a large percentage of your potential market. In addition to lost market share, there is also a potential legal aspect of accessibility if you are building applications for government organizations. Section 508 mandates specific types of accessibility features in your app, and the rules for apps are different than the rules for web sites. This session covers the Section 508 rules for apps and demonstrates tools and coding techniques which enable your application to embrace disabled users.

A long time resident of metro Detroit, Dr. Truxall has been slinging code for a living since 1995, working with enterprise web technologies, modeling business processes, and building public web sites and mobile apps for some of the largest organizations in North America.
