About this event

This presentation will include tips and techniques I have developed for working effectively as a remote software developer and manager.

I have worked full-time remote for a most of my career, and I have experienced many challenges. Communication is more difficult, motivation is hard to find, and distractions are everywhere. I'll highlight these challenges and provide actionable techniques to avoid them.

This presentation will involve audience participation, so come prepared to share you recent successes and failures about working from home.

About Mike Wolfson

Mike is a product-focused developer working out of Phoenix. He has been working in the software field for more than 20 years, and with Android since its introduction. He is a Google Developer Expert in Android and the author of the book "Android Developer Tools Essentials" published by O’Reilly. He currently works for NCAA Digital (Warner Media) working on an all new MMLive App for 2021.

He has spoken about Android and mobile development at a variety of conferences and user groups (including Google IO, Oredev, Oscon, GDGSiliconValley, Droidcon NYC & Turin, AnDevCon, and others). When he is not geeking out about phones, he enjoys the outdoors (snowboarding, hiking, scuba diving), collecting PEZ dispensers, and chasing his young (but quick) daughter.

He is a Denver native, and graduate of George Washington High School, and CSU.
