About this event

Join us Thursday evening for an introduction to Kubernetes. Kubernetes is a container orchestration system originally developed by Google and now managed by the Cloud Native Computing Foundation. From Spotify to Capital One, Kubernetes helps companies leverage the power of the microservice architecture and its portability means you can easily deploy your applications to many public cloud providers or an on premise solution. In this talk Jacob will discuss the architecture of Kubernetes and how to build and containerize a simple angular web app that can be deployed to Kubernetes.

About our Speaker:
Jacob Lancaster is a senior at The University of Texas at Dallas as well as a technology intern for State Farm Insurance. Over the course of his internship, he has learned about many DevOps practices as well as utilizing Docker and Kubernetes to architect back-end services.

Some snacks will be provided before or after the event. As this is our first evening meetup at The University of Texas at Dallas, we're still figuring some things out. Come join us!

NOTICE ABOUT PARKING
All vehicles parked at UT Dallas must have a valid permit to park. We will be emailing parking permits to all on the RSVP a day before the event. Please print out this parking pass and place it in a spot where it is visible to parking enforcement.
