Title: Code like a superhero (with Duet AI)
Speaker: Daniel Strebel
Description: Have you ever tried to write code in an editor without syntax highlighting? Or tried to implement an application on a plane without internet access? As developers, we have become accustomed to having access to tools that make us more productive and effective in turning our ideas into code.
Thanks to the recent advances in large language models and the new applications of generative AI, the possibilities for providing relevant assistance have made enormous strides. They have even started to make their way into the daily workflows of many software engineers and other IT professionals.
In this talk, we will explore how we can use Duet AI features to give ourselves a power boost with domain expertise, code completion, and code generation. We will explore various personas of cloud users, how they can benefit from Duet AI in their data exploration, operations, or development tasks, as well as the underlying technological foundations that power all of it.
Of course, we will also do an extensive live demo and show how we can build a cloud-native application with the help of our AI-powered pair programming buddy.

Speaker Bio: Florian has been a Site Reliability Engineer at Google for 6 years and is currently part of Google Cloud's Customer Reliability Engineering team, where he advises GCP customers on how to build and run services reliably on GCP. Prior to Google, Florian built data handling systems for ECMWF and was a Computational Science researcher at Imperial College London.
