There was a time when asking “where do computer applications come from?” had one answer: from software engineers. 

Advances in Machine Learning algorithms coupled with the adoption of software engineering practices for deploying machine learning models to production have fundamentally altered the tech landscape. 

 Machine Learning models are used to tackle problems that seemed unsolvable a couple of decades ago using traditional software engineering techniques. In this presentation, we’ll introduce the discipline of data engineering, discuss DevOps and Machine Learning operations (MLOps), review key tasks and tools, and describe how to do data engineering in Google Cloud. 

 We’ll also review what is required to pass the Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer Certification exam.
