Talks

Talk 1: Wait, you guys are getting tech jobs? - Subi Shrestha

Landing a tech job as an international student can feel overwhelming—navigating visas, limited experience, and a job market that often feels out of reach. In this fun, candid, and refreshingly real talk, Subi shares how she stumbled, networked, and eventually landed a job in the tech industry—and how others around her did it too.

Expect reflections on what worked, what didn’t, what she wish she’d done sooner, and what she’d do differently if starting over today. Plus, for the curious minds—yes, there’s a bit about what working in cybersecurity is really like (hint: it’s not all hackers in hoodies).

If you’re feeling stuck, unsure where to begin, or just need a reminder that you’re not alone in figuring this all out, this talk is for you. No silver bullets—just stories, lessons, and a few resources that might help you take your next step.
