Talks

Talk 1: From Idea to Reality: Bootstrapping My Side Project on Google Cloud By Anish Shrestha

In this talk, I will share my journey of deploying my side project as a B2C SAAS to production on the Google Cloud Platform (GCP). I'll cover how I leveraged various GCP services like Cloud Run, Cloud Build, Load Balancer, Cloud Storage, Cloud SQL, and Cloud Scheduler to build and deploy microservices (what I like to call macro services) for authentication, file handling, payment management, and ML service for image processing.

I'll dive into architecting these services, integrating machine learning models, and implementing features like user auth/registration, file uploads, a credits-based payment system, and AI-driven image generation with pre/post-processing. I'll share lessons learned, best practices, and tips for building complex, AI-driven applications on GCP, including optimising costs, ensuring scalability, and overcoming deployment challenges, especially for new products.

I aim to provide some insights into shipping an AI-powered application to production using GCP services, enabling them to bring their innovative ideas to life by leveraging GCP.

Talk 2: Freemium LLM Showdown: Gemini Pro vs. ChatGPT By Kushal Pokhrel

We all know that, the freemium large language model (LLM) landscape is heating up! Powerhouses like Google's Gemini Pro and OpenAI's ChatGPT are pushing the boundaries of AI capabilities given to us all users for free, or is it?. But with each model boasting unique strengths, which one reigns supreme? This talk dives into a head-to-head comparison of these titans, analyzing their performance across various dynamic properties. Join us in this talk as we explore their strengths and weaknesses, ultimately revealing which LLM might be the perfect fit for your needs.
