The goal of our workshop is to introduce both the code (“how you build neural networks”) as well as design (“how you build systems that users can trust”) at the same time
If you’re a developer, we hope this will be a useful (and quick) intro to design
Likewise, if you’re a designer, we hope this will be a useful and quick intro to code
There are a lot of concepts we’ll cover in each topic (in just a short time), and it’s okay not to understand everything
The goal is to get the flavor, and there are resources for you to continue learning at home
Dr. Nadia Tahiri is an Assistant Professor in Computer Science at the University of Sherbrooke. Her research interests are in the field of bioinformatics, phylogenetic trees, clustering, biodiversity, and also in the application of Machine Learning in public health. Nadia obtained her doctorate in computer science from the University of Quebec in Montreal in 2018. She is the recipient of several awards and scholarships. She is in the process of setting up her own research laboratory. Nadia is also very involved in community initiatives that promote women in technology and make AI more inclusive as an active member of ACM Canadian Celebration of Women In Computing, ambassador of Women Techmakers Montreal, and organizer of GDG Montreal/GDG Cloud Sherbrooke.
