Tone: what and why we’re doing this workshop

• The goal of our workshop is to introduce both the code (“how you build neural networks”) as well as design (“how you build systems that users can trust”) at the same time
• If you’re a developer, we hope this will be a useful (and quick) intro to design
• Likewise, if you’re a designer, we hope this will be a useful and quick intro to code
• There are a lot of concepts we’ll cover in each topic (in just a short time), and it’s okay not to understand everything
• The goal is to get the flavor, and there are resources for you to continue learning at home
