About this event

Handling Big Data in GCP for Safety with LATAM AIRLINES

We present the solution that will be used in LATAM Airlines for handling the sensor data of the aircraft (100 MB of compress data) for each flight of the company. How to process it in a reasonable time with a Kubernetes engine and how to load and expose the data to BigQuery or download it directly as a pandas Dataframe in a cost-effective manner. This enables the company to find and reinforce good practices done by the pilots in a data-driven manner and find previously unknown relations. creating a new horizon for safety in the airline industry

Speaker 1 Cristóbal Guzmán: Senior Data Scientist, Beer lover & Aviation Enthusiast

Speaker 2 Michael Haacke : ML Engineer in LATAM Airlines, Bachelor in physics of Universidad Catolica de Chile, and candidate for master in theoretical physics.

Besides working at Latam he also collaborates at ATLAS international collaboration of Large Hadron Collider doing Machine learning techniques for searches of new particles.
