In today's world of big data & machine learning, developers are creating insightful tools like never before. However, not everyone has the AI/ML nor math background to jump straight into PyTorch, sci-kit learn, or TensorFlow. Google Cloud makes AI/ML available to everyone by providing machine learning models accessible via API, so as a developer if you can call an API, you can leverage the power of machine learning. In this workshop, attendees will learn how to use the Google Cloud Vision API and build & run 4 simple scripts, each demonstrating a different API feature. Time-permitting, we'll explore a sample script using the Google Cloud Natural Language API. AUDIENCE PREREQUISITES LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Intermediate developers new to machine learning and comfortable using SDKs/APIs
Working experience with Python may be helpful but not required. (The same tutorial is available for C# and Ruby developers.) This hands-on exercise requires a Google account and will take place in the cloud. If you prefer to "BYO" and build w/your local environment, you'll need to install the client library (see https://cloud.google.com/vision/docs/libraries#installing_the_client_library).
* Give developers hands-on experience with a machine learning API
* Become familiar with the machine learning APIs in Google Cloud Platform
* Learn how to use those APIs from Python
