About the Speakers:

Ale Paredes
Head of Engineering at Code Climate

Ale is the Head of Engineering at Code Climate where she helps engineering leaders with actionable metrics. With over 9 years of technical experience, she is passionate about growing an inclusive team and help foster an environment where everyone can grow their skills, do their best work, build resilient and scalable systems and deliver impactful solutions. Also, Ale is one of the founders of Latinas in Tech NYC.

Angela Medina
Product Designer at BuzzFeed

Angela has been designing digital experiences for over 10 years. Her past work in agencies, media and tech companies includes a wide variety of projects including contributing to successful digital experiences for Dodge and Fiat and leading the redesign of TechCrunch’s mobile applications. She now works as a Product Designer at BuzzFeed.

As a proud Colombian, Angela cares deeply about diversity and inclusion in Tech. She leads the Latinas in Tech NYC chapter. She’s also passionate about mental health, social good, education, mentoring aspiring designers, a waste free world, animals, traveling and good food.

Kaitlyn Barclay
CEO of Scout Lab

Kaitlyn is the CEO of Scout Lab, a creative agency at the intersection of brand and social. Scout Lab's clients include WordPress.com, Alibaba, adidas, Motorola, and they specialize in growing venture backed startups. She previously led global customer acquisition at Levi’s, after her start-up was acquired by ClassPass in 2015.

Nina Mehta
Design Manager at Mailchimp

Nina Mehta is a design manager at Mailchimp, a marketing platform for small businesses. She previously worked on teams in San Francisco and Berlin at Stripe, Pivotal Labs, and Twilio. Nina looks to take on work that absorbs complexity and put screens in the background. She's an almost certified expert in the Konmari Method and pair design enthusiast.

Joy Valerie
Digital Operations Strategist & Founder of Carrera Digital Solutions

Joy Valerie is a Digital Operations Strategist, Growth Hacker, Podcaster and Founder of Carrera Digital Solutions. A Rochester Institute of Technology alumni, Joy earned her Bachelors in International Studies & Engineering in 2013. Joy is passionate about leveraging technology and aims to empower founders and entrepreneurs to build scalable businesses all while traveling to 26+ countries.
