1) Speaker 1 - Álvaro Retortillo: Site Reliability Engineer at Shazam
Shazam's Magic runs in GPUs, tons of them; every single music recognition request ends up in a GPU where it is matched against millions of songs so you can get your tag in seconds.
Why and how Shazam migrated GPU Recognition Infrastructure from bare metal servers to Google Cloud?
In this talk we will see how the Cloud can help us respond to traffic increase in real time, build a more reliable infrastructure with automatic failover, roll out changes safely and roll them back in case of need and benefit from shared storage to reduce costs and speed up cluster orchestration.
Álvaro has worked as a Site Reliability Engineer at Shazam focused on operation automation and migrating to Google Cloud Shazam API and Recognition Infrastructure.
Álvaro is a passionate about Linux, automation, big scale and resilient systems which do not wake up SREs :)
