General Monthly Meetup of GDG Cloud London for January 2018.
You must have an RSVP for entry and is first come first served.
Speakers 1) Ben Hall, Katacoda
Extending Kubernetes to support tensorflow workloads with Kubeflow.
2) Basia Fusinska, Katacoda / TBA
Hassle free, scalable, machine learning learning with Kubeflow.
Kubeflow uses Kubernetes strengths to build a toolkit for data scientists where they can create, train and publish the models in a hassle-free and scalable way. The goal is to run machine learning workflow without a need to think about the infrastructure. In this talk, Barbara will discuss the capabilities of Kubeflow from the data scientist perspective. The presentation will introduce how you can use the platform to build the models and deploy it adjusting the computation environment.
3) Introduction to Cloud Firestore
There have been many changes to the Firebase Database in the last 12 months. We'll be taking a look at Cloud Firestore, how it differs to the Firebase RTDB and which you should use for your application. The talk will also discuss issues around latency, data sharding and solutions to common scenarios.
Jason P Berryman, Founder and CTO, Dolphin ONE Communications
Dolphin ONE were one of the official launch partners for Cloud Firestore, working closely with the Firebase team for almost 12 months before the launch. Focusing on solutions using Google Cloud technologies, Jason has been designing and developing the Calll.io telephony platform, which uses Cloud Firestore and Cloud Functions for Firebase. at its core.
4) Nawaid Shamim
Software Engineer, BBC and Google Developer Experts for Cloud
Developing "big data" analytics solutions to help the BBC deliver the best experiences to the iPlayer. Prior to BBC, Nawaid has worked at Sony Computer Entertainment where he designed and developed gaming platforms for Playstation games including Little Big Planet, Kill Zone - Shadow Fall, and Tearaway. He advocates and evangelises for cloud computing and has a keen interest in big data, distributed systems and deep learning.
Apache Beam: A Unified Model for Batch and Streaming Data Processing
Unbounded, unordered, global-scale datasets are increasingly common in day-to-day business. This talk will provide introduction to Apache Beam, a new programming model that allows users to clearly trade off correctness, latency, and cost.
