This hackathon is not about writing polished, production-ready code. It is a sprint to experiment, learn, break things, and build great solutions to real-world problems in just a few hours.

Build with Gemma: GDG Cloud Lahore


With the release of Gemma 4, a new family of open models is officially in your hands. Leverage local frontier intelligence, native function calling, and multimodal understanding to tackle core developer challenges.

These are the rules every participant must follow.

Teams can have 2–4 members.
  1. Every project must use Gemma.
  2. Code must be uploaded to GitHub.
  3. Submit only one project per team.
  4. Respect other participants.
  5. No plagiarism.
  6. AI-generated code is allowed, but your team must understand and explain the project.
  7. Submit before the deadline.

"Any project that doesn't use Gemma or is submitted after the deadline won't be eligible for judging."


This hackathon is not about writing polished, production-ready code. It is a sprint to experiment, learn, break things, and build great solutions to real-world problems in just a few hours. You have access to the newly released Gemma 4 models. Team up, brainstorm a wild idea, hack a prototype, and pitch before the clock runs out. Bring your laptop, your boldest ideas, and let's build something amazing together!

Your Goal

Tell a story. Show us the problem and how your Gemma 4 application solves it in a powerful way.

While your technical execution is vital, the ability to communicate your vision through a compelling writeup and pitch is what will set the winners apart.

Minimum Team Size: 2 Maximum Team Size: 4

Submission Requirements

Each team must submit:

  1. Kaggle Writeup
  2. Public GitHub Repository
  3. Live Demo (or Kaggle Notebook)
  4. 5-minute Presentation

Failure to submit all required items before the deadline may result in disqualification.

External Data

Participants may use publicly available datasets, APIs, and open-source libraries.

Paid proprietary datasets that are not reasonably accessible to all participants are not allowed.

Judging Criteria

  1. Gemma Integration -- 30%
  2. Innovation & Impact -- 30%
  3. Functionality -- 20%
  4. Presentation & Kaggle Writeup -- 20%

Eligibility

The hackathon is open to students, professionals, researchers, and AI enthusiasts.

Participants must have a Kaggle account before submitting.

  • First Prize: Certificate + GDG/Google Swag + prize from kaggle
  • Second Prize: Certificate + Swag + prize from kaggle
  • Third Prize: Certificate + prize from kaggle
  • Participation: Digital Certificate for all eligible participants.
