Introduction:
StartupAfricaRoadtrip is an initiative whose goal is to support and drive cutting edge social innovation in developing countries, creating opportunities for entrepreneurial and startups ecosystem to grow locally and globally and contribute to generate self-sustaining virtuous circles.

We are looking for up to 15 teams of startuppers, innovators, makers and young talents who intend to develop products or services with high potential impact on some of the sectors driving the local economy.

The selected startups will attend a 5-day Bootcamp session at Makerere Innovation Center (http://miichub.com/) in Kampala from 5th to 9th August 2019. During this event shall look at using the cloud to build online applications and services with a codelab for the participants in a later session.

Objective:
The objective of the initiative is to support startups, innovators, makers and young talents who intend to develop products or services with high potential impact on some of the sectors driving the local economy.

Target:
Primary sector: agribusiness, renewable energies;
Industry: craft, fashion, manufacturing, architecture and design, construction;
Service industry: ICT, healthcare, education and social services and financial services, tourism, media & communication, music and visual arts.

What startups will get:
Participants will benefit from extensive training to refine their business plans and craft presentations, with our mentors and coaches, pitching the last day in an ecosystem event.

The awarded startups will receive:
1) A personalized mentoring program with industry experts and coaches.
2) A possibility to experience an immersive week in the Italian ecosystem to build connections with local stakeholders (startups, accelerators, VCs and business angels, corporates).

Methodology:
The bootcamp week is made up of 5 "vertical" workshops alternated with practice and mentoring sessions to provide useful tools for acquiring transversal skills in developing business activities and being able to effectively present to investors.

The days will be divided as follows:
1) Value proposition design, Investor pitching & Effective presentation
2) Business Modelling and Grow your Impact
3) Go To Market Strategies, Digital and Social Media Marketing
4) New ventures financing.

We're a group of young and internationally experienced Italian entrepreneurs and professionals, working in venture capital, startups acceleration, digital and social media marketing.
