This time you’ll then learn about recent features added to BigQuery, on how to load and manage data on a petabyte scale, and get hands-on experience creating optimized queries with partitioning, clustering, and materialized views and writing complex queries. We will highlight some of the recent use cases that are possible with object tables, apply dynamic data masking, cloud console updates, the Lineage tab, learn about INFORMATION_SCHEMA.JOBS, search indexes and remote functions.

Then we'll dive into creating optimized reports in Looker Data Studio by connecting to BigQuery data. We will understand what is BI Engine, and we will demo how we are orchestrating BI Engine reservation for big cost savings and accelerated queries.

The session is designed for developers, data analysts, engineers and digital marketers who are looking to answer complex business questions using large datasets and are familiar with SQL language. As BigQuery is often a core part of the service stack, we will have a demo about cloud automation as well, using Cloud Workflows. 

About the Speaker

Márton Kodok is a software developer & international speaker, currently working as a Google Developer Expert at Reea.

He led the implementation of complex and distributed web backends serving millions of users for companies like FreeLogoServices, Vodafone, LogoMix, Deluxe, WaterSmart, Ausschreibungsdienste and many more.

He's also an active contributor for open-source solutions like Beanstalkd console, and Riak admin interface. Expert in Cloud Technologies, Scalability, HA, Serverless, Cloud Run, Vertex AI, database systems like BigQuery, Redis, MySQL, Elasticsearch.
