About this event

#IAmRemarkable is a global movement that empowers everyone to celebrate their achievements in the workplace and beyond, while challenging the social perception around self-promotion. At the heart of our movement is a 90-minute workshop open to everyone, hosted by global facilitators. #IAmRemarkable started at Google in 2016 and has seen continued scale and impact principally because of the strength of its community. From the 1st of October 2023, #IAmRemarkable was licensed to Rmrkblty, an independent NGO created and run by Anna Vainer, who has led the program since it began at Google, with the goal of positively impacting more people around the world, long term.

More than 550,000 people have participated in #IAmRemarkable workshops, across 180 countries. This has been made possible by over 3,000 global facilitators who are passionate and committed to helping others celebrate their achievements.

Our speaker, Oyoenisai Andrew-Essien introduced this initiative to her previous employer and received a CEO award and an achievement award for exceptional performance, above and beyond call of duty. Within a year, the company's impact report showed that,

52% of people were more vocal about their achievements,

83% were openly encouraging other people to do so as well, and

65% of the participants said that the training contributed positively to the way they approached their Annual Appraisal.

Here is a video that shows how participants are encouraged to openly speak about their achievements.

Our speaker will be with us virtually, while the event will be conducted in-person at the Broad Institute. There will be a maximum of 20 participants to ensure active participation in the workshop. We will celebrate the completion of the workshop with an optional happy hour nearby in Kendall Square from 7pm onwards.
