SPEAKER BIO:

Jessica Janiuk is the lead software engineer at Spoiler Alert, a Boston-based tech startup focused on reducing food waste. Jessica has a full stack background and has been working in tech for the past 10 years. Her focus is web technologies, and she has a passion for good user experience. She is also the co-organizer of GDG Cambridge and a Women Techmakers Ambassador.

Migrating to GCP: A Startup's Journey

ABSTRACT:

A lot of thought can go into deciding on which cloud to use, and sometimes we make the wrong decision and have to migrate to another cloud platform. Come join Jessica share the story of Spoiler Alert and her team's decision to migrate from Microsoft Azure to Google Cloud Platform. She'll walk through the technology, the consoles, decisions, and migration process through all of it. Oh and Spoiler Alert! It'll be fun!

WHO SHOULD ATTEND:

Anyone interested in getting a better understanding of which cloud technologies work for them, why different technologies and clouds are picked, and how startups make decisions about which tech is the right ones.

WHAT WILL YOU LEARN:

You'll learn about how startups look at picking technologies, cloud providers, and how migration between platforms works. This talk is for all experience levels and questions are welcome.
