About this event

UPDATE - the event will be livestreamed with Q&A app for those who cannot attend. Link will be shared just before the event.

Join us at Google Brussels for an evening focused on smart contracts and Google BigQuery. We will first give short introductions to BigQuery, smart contracts and oracles. LinkPool will then give a live demonstration of a smart contract leveraging Google BigQuery’s dataset using a Chainlink Oracle.

6:00 PM: Doors open, food and drinks will be available
7:00 PM: Presentation on Google BigQuery and Big Data Warehousing (Niels Buekers, Fourcast)
7:20 PM: Presentation on smart contracts and how Chainlink oracles fit in (Johann Eid, Chainlink)
7:40 PM: Demo on smart contract deployment and httpGet jobs (Johann Eid, Chainlink)
8:00 PM: Networking & break (food and drinks will be available)
8:15 PM: Presentation on LinkPool and building the BigQuery adapter (Jonny Huxtable, LinkPool)
8:35 PM: Demo on calling a futures smart contract using Google BigQuery and a Chainlink adapter (Jonny Huxtable, LinkPool)
9:00 PM: Q&A – Questions about BigQuery, Chainlink, and LinkPool
9:30-10:00 PM: Snacks, drinks, and networking

Fourcast is a Google Cloud premium partner focused on enabling people to collaborate & communicate better using Google Cloud solutions. They will be represented by Niels Buekers, co-founder and Head of Cloud Services at Fourcast.

Chainlink is the leading blockchain middleware company for smart contracts to connect to real-world data. Chainlink is building decentralized oracle technology to create externally linked smart contracts used by leading enterprises, such as SWIFT and Google, and top smart contract teams including Web3 Foundation, Zeppelin, Hadera, Celer, OpenLaw, MARKET Protocol, Kaleido, and many others. They will be represented by Johann Eid, Product Manager and Developer Evangelist at Chainlink.

LinkPool is a leading Chainlink node service provider with the goal of providing tools and services that benefit the Chainlink ecosystem. Their goal is to lower the barrier to entry to staking on Chainlink nodes, easing the amount of technical experience required to run a Chainlink node, and providing smart contract creators with the tools to easily search and identify Chainlink nodes that can suit their data requirements. They will be represented by Jonny Huxtable, Co-founder & Technical Lead at LinkPool.
