About this event

Agenda:

0. Intro & Welcome

Women’s Day is very special in South Africa during the Women’s Month of August. That’s why we would like to commemorate this day together with you. In celebration of the 1956 Great Women’s March, where more than 20,000 strong women marched to the Union Building to protest against the extension of Pass Laws to women, Women’s Day is celebrated every year on August 9. Join us for enlightening talks where we explore the profound relationship between 'Man' and 'Machine' in the age of AI, conscious choices, and the future economy.

Discover the power of resilience and learn practical techniques to find balance, reduce stress, and embrace a happier, healthier life. We will also hear from a panel of Women in industry about Allyship, Psychological Safety, the imposter phenomenon and promoting yourself in the workplace. (edited)

1. Conscious Choices - 'Man', 'Machine' and everything in between. - Lavina Ramkissoon

First, Lavina Ramkissoon will dive into the fascinating world of artificial intelligence (AI) and its significance in our lives. Explore the depths of what it means to be human and the inherent value we bring. Engage in conversations about conscious choices and how they influence our individual and collective paths. Discover the concept of value in the context of a rapidly evolving economy and explore the delicate balance between good and evil, morals and freedom, and the intricate relationship between 'Man' and 'Machine'.

2. Building resilience and safety, one breath at a time. - Lily Breuning-Ellis

In the second part of the workshop, we will address the challenges we face in our modern lives, where information overload, poor work-life balance, and constant change contribute to elevated levels of stress. Enter Lily Breuning Ellis, a renowned resilience expert, who will guide us through practical techniques to build resilience and safety, one breath at a time. Discover the transformative power of implementing small changes in your daily routine to cultivate resilience, calmness, joy, and better health.

3. The last item on our agenda for the day will be a panel discussion: Allyship, Psychological Safety, the imposter phenomenon and promoting yourself in the workpace.
